\n\t\t\tL’Association pour l’am\u00e9lioration du sol et des cultures du Nouveau-Brunswick\t<\/h1>\n\t

Le mouvement des sols et des cultures au Nouveau-Brunswick a commenc\u00e9 en 1977 par la formation de plusieurs associations locales. Le nombre de sections locales a augment\u00e9 et un conseil provincial compos\u00e9 de deux directeurs par locales a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 – L’Association pour l’am\u00e9lioration du sol et des cultures du Nouveau-Brunswick.<\/p>\n

Nous avons huit associations locales actives: Nord-Est (CCME), la c\u00f4te Nord (Bathurst), Moncton, Chignecto (Sackville), le comt\u00e9 de Kings, Central (Fredericton), Nord-Ouest (Edmundston) et le comt\u00e9 de Carleton. Les administrateurs au niveau locale et provincial sont des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles. Les frais d’adh\u00e9sion annuels sont fix\u00e9s par le conseil provincial avec une partie vers\u00e9e aux associations locales.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoin the Northeast Soil &amp; Crop Improvement Association for a farm tour and BBQ at Schenkels Farms in Rogersville on Friday, Sept. 11th. The tour will feature wildlife fencing in corn, the NBSCIA drone cover crop seeding site, and discussion on crop rotation. A demo of no-till winter wheat seeding and section controlled fertilizer spreader will take place after lunch. A BBQ lunch will be provided on behalf of the Northeast Soil &amp; Crop club, Green Diamond Miramichi, and the Northeast local milk committee. Producers from all regions welcome. Please bring a camp chair!

Rejoignez l\u2019Association pour l\u2019am\u00e9lioration des sols et des cultures du Nord-Est (Northeast Soil &amp; Crop Improvement Association) pour une visite de la ferme et un barbecue \u00e0 la ferme Schenkels Farms, \u00e0 Rogersville, vendredi le 11 septembre. La visite comprendra des cl\u00f4ture de protection contre les ours, le site d\u2019ensemencement de cultures de couverture par drone de la NBSCIA, ainsi qu\u2019une discussion sur la rotation des cultures. Une d\u00e9monstration d\u2019ensemencement de bl\u00e9 d\u2019hiver en semis direct et d\u2019\u00e9pandage d\u2019engrais \u00e0 contr\u00f4le par section aura lieu apr\u00e8s le d\u00eener. Un d\u00eener barbecue sera offert par le club AASCNB locale, Green Diamond Miramichi et le comit\u00e9 laitier local du Nord-Est. Les producteurs de toutes les r\u00e9gions sont les bienvenus. N\u2019oubliez pas d\u2019apporter une chaise de camping !

\n\tLast Wednesday, a great group of producers, industry representatives, and researchers came out to tour the cereal research plots hosted by NBDAAF and NBSCIA.

The day began at Richard Culberson &amp; Sons in Waterville, where participants heard from Heather Russell and Peter Scott. This site featured NBDAAF's Maritime Cereal Registration Trials and Soybean Variety Tests, with oven-fired pizza provided for lunch.

In the afternoon, the group travelled to NBSCIA's research sites on Shawn Paget's farm in Williamstown. Dr. Michel McElroy, a researcher with CEROM, discussed the winter wheat breeding trial. Dr. Art McElroy, owner of PhytoGene Resources Inc., spoke about the oat breeding program, including the development of oat varieties specifically adapted to New Brunswick's climate, as well as the oat lodging project being conducted at NBSCIA's oat research site.

Mercredi dernier, un groupe important de producteurs, de repr\u00e9sentants du secteur et de chercheurs s\u2019est r\u00e9uni pour visiter les parcelles d\u2019essais c\u00e9r\u00e9aliers g\u00e9r\u00e9es par la NBDAAF et la NBSCIA.
